* Please note A Taste of Byron will only be selling Mt Warning Spring Water as part of a sponsorship agreement & participants will not be allowed to sell water at the event.

MINI MARQUEE SITES

Sites are not transferable to another operator. Each mini marquee site will be equipped with one 3.6m x 3.6m marquee, 2 x trestle tables and 2 x plastic chairs. Any additional equipment required to operate a stall efficiently is the responsibility of the stallholder.

TABLE SITES

Table sites are not transferable to another operator. Each table site is equipped with 1 x trestle table, 2 plastic chairs and 1 x umbrella. Any additional equipment required to operate you site efficiently is the responsibility of the stall holder and must comply with council requirements.

Full payment is required from all stallholders to reserve your site # and should be sent together with a completed Application Form. In the event of a cancellation of a confirmed site booking less than 3 weeks prior to the event; 50% will not be refunded. If there is a cancellation less than 7 days prior to the event site fee will not be refunded.

POWER

Each stall will receive 10amps of power, any stalls requiring more than 10amps will be charged an excess power fee. All equipment must be notified below, any equipment that has not been noted will NOT be allowed on the day - NO EXCEPTIONS! All leads must be tagged and tested, if our onsite electrician has to do this there will be a fee of $20 per lead so make sure you get this done before the event! Please be aware that there will be limited outlets for coffee machines, with preference being given to local coffee producers until June 1st, and then it will be a first in best dressed situation.

SITE OPERATION AND PRESENTATION
Stallholders are responsible presenting their stall in the most attractive way possible, and the supply of various items including but not limited to:
  • Signage
  • Recyclable plates, cutlery, serviettes etc.
  • Suitable non-slip floor covering
  • All water requirements
  • Washing tub
  • Recently tested and tagged extension leads, power boards and adapters
  • Recently tested fire extinguisher and fire blanket

Please note all stalls require a fire extinguisher & blanket, if you require these to be supplied there will be a fee. Also if you have a fire extinguisher that needs to be serviced, this can be done on the day but we will need to know by Aug 30th 2007.

COUNCIL INSPECTIONS

Byron Shire Council will inspect the festival site and all stalls set-up within the site. Each stallholder will be required to comply with NSW Food Act 1989 and Food Standards Codes. Further information regarding these requirements will be provided upon receipt of a completed stall application & posted on our website www.atasteofbyron.com

CONDITIONS

CANCELLATIONS/SUBSTITUTIONS

In the event of a cancellation of a confirmed site booking less than 3 weeks prior to the event; 50% will not be refunded. If there is a cancellation less than 7 days prior to the event site fee will not be refunded.

DONATION

We ask that all food stalls donate 2 plates of food each; 1 will be given to volunteers on the day, the other will be a sample plate used to judge the Taste of Byron Signature Dish 2007

PRODUCTS BANNED FROM SALE

Alcohol and cigarettes are banned from sale by all food stallholders. Any stalls found to be selling these products will be closed down immediately and excluded from future events.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE & WORKCOVER

All stallholders must prove that they hold current Public Liability insurance to a minimum of $10 million and WorkCover insurance (where applicable) to be eligible to participate at the event. Copies of your current policies must accompany your Application Form.

SAFETY

All stallholders are required to be in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards as required by the NSW Environmental Health Department.

SITE RULES

Successful applicants will be expected to abide by the following rules. Please read these rules before submitting the application. By submitting the application the stallholder agrees that:

  • The stallholder has an established system and procedure for managing the OH&S risks.
  • The stallholder will undertake an event-specific risk assessment to ensure risks are identified and controlled for the contract services.
  • The stallholder is licensed for the relevant activities and employees have appropriate competencies and licenses required for the works.
  • Plant and equipment is appropriately licensed or registered and maintained and inspected on a regular basis.
  • The stallholder holds a minimum of $10 million Public Liability Insurance and provides a copy of this upon return of this document.
  • No person to work while under the influence of alcohol and/or recreational drugs.
  • The stallholder and staff agree to abide by site emergency procedures.

BY SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD

AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE STALL CONDITIONS

I hereby declare that I will comply with the conditions for stallholders as stated in this document and that I accept fully responsibility for safety standards and requirements by the NSW Environmental Health Department and the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce. I understand that failing to comply with any of these conditions will result in being asked to leave the event immediately with no refund of my deposit.
